Position Overview:
Launch your clinical psychology career with Alfred Care Group, Bayside Health – a leading provider of mental health and wellbeing services. Our two-year registrar program offers immersive clinical experience, individual and peer-group supervision, and a supportive learning environment.
One position working across diverse settings in Acute-Subacute services at The Alfred is available for a new-graduate psychologist seeking clinical psychology endorsement, commencing February 2027.
Our well-established psychology graduate program will support your transition into the workforce while you undertake the PsyBA clinical psychology registrar program.
Eligibility Criteria:
We warmly welcome applications from passionate and committed current final year Clinical Psychology Masters/Doctoral candidates who currently hold provisional registration and expect to attain General Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia by no later than end of January 2027.
In your cover letter, please include the anticipated date you expect to attain General Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Program Highlights:
- Two 12-month rotations in services within Heart Transplant, Victorian Adult Burns Service, and Acute Trauma Services.
- You will be supported by highly experienced supervisors at each rotation site, and receive supervision provided by a dedicated Psychology Educator throughout your two-year program. Our supervision model ensures you receive consistent, high-quality guidance from senior psychologists, with opportunities for feedback, case discussion, and professional growth.
- Regular peer group supervision.
- You will be enrolled in Alfred Care Group's Psychology Registrar Learning and Development Program. You will learn and network with peers at a similar stage of development, as well as learn from guest speakers from specialist areas.
- Two hours of protected time per week for reflective practice in your first year.
- Discovery Days across diverse mental health services.
- Access to a diverse range of professional development opportunities through the psychology department as well as Alfred Mental and Addiction Health.
- Most graduates from our program have successfully transitioned into clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist roles at Alfred Care Group.
