The Department

Alfred Hospital's Radiology Department is one of Melbourne’s leading tertiary teaching and trauma hospitals. Alfred Radiology Department values education and professional development and utilises modern technologies across all modalities to image challenging patients.

The Role

You role would be to provide the best possible radiographic examination ensuring patient comfort, welfare and safety in accordance with established radiographic practice, ethics and code of conduct. In addition to routine imaging this position will provide opportunity to develop a broad range of specialist skills associated with Cardiac and Advanced Neuro imaging to support inpatient, outpatient and research patient presentations. Staff will be rotated through all aspects of the department's MRI service which is provided across 5 MRI scanners to allow the broadest range of experience. Some shift and on call work will be required.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiations or equivalent
  • Eligibility for A.S.M.I.R.T. Statement of Compliance
  • A.S.M.I.R.T. Level One MRI Accreditation or equivalent
  • National Registration with AHPRA to practice as a Medical Imaging Technologist
  • Victorian Department of Health Use Licence
  • Evidence of CPD in line with registration requirements
  • Good communication skills
  • Team worker
  • 12 months experience working in MRI
  • Experience working in a tertiary health service would be advantageous
