DEPARTMENT: This position is Finance Project Business Analyst to support both the Finance Department and wider Alfred Health departments. This role is responsible for the coordination and contribution to a range of activities in support of projects including understanding the business needs and employs a project-based approach to problem solving and decision making for business improvement delivery as well as financial analysis as required. The Project Business Analyst is a key operational role responsible and accountable for assisting the Compensable Billing & System Specialist and help deliver major organisational projects efficiently using best practice project management methodologies. The position will be responsible for delivering a customer centric approach to system analytical support and assist with any future projects within Finance as required.
POSITION: • The Project Business Analyst is responsible to support the Project Manager with all project related testing, training and administration • Responsible for providing analytical support on billing, AR & process elements of billing system implementation for Radiology, Radiotherapy (William Buckland) and other Programs as required • Meeting deadlines and undertaking and/or supporting a number of projects in a pressured, large-volume work environment. • Track team deliverables and timing of project activities, stakeholder engagement and communications • Research and analyse information and make recommendations based on relevant evidence • Identify and escalate issues that may hinder completion of tasks and find appropriate solutions • Be willing to seek out input from others and share own ideas to achieve best outcomes • Identify ways to improve systems or processes which are used by the team/unit • Identify issues that may hinder completion of tasks, escalate any possible variance from project outcomes, cost or timeframes, in a timely manner and find appropriate solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Essential: • Undergraduate courses in business, finance, information technology and project management are well regarded. • Strong ICT with the ability to understand new technologies and processes. • Experience with Finance systems implementations, including Testing, Training and Change Management. Desirable: • A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or Certified Practicing Accountants (or international equivalent) is desirable, but not mandatory. • Experience with project management methodology (PRINCE2, Agile and/or Six Sigma) • Experience and knowledge relating to work in Victorian Public Health is desirable, but not mandatory • Prior experience in providing a broad range of administrative, finance analysis, quality control and assurance including key decisions to management • Some process / system improvement experience, as well as related project exposure would be desirable • Working knowledge of converting analytic data into decisions, testing, governance and underpinning controls would be desirable. • An understanding of the operations of a major health service or similar healthcare setting is highly desirable.
