The Clinical Research Unit oversees a large number of clinical trials for these diverse patient groups from Phase 1, first-in-humans to Phase 3 randomised, controlled trials, testing newly developed drugs straight from the biotech companies, to established drugs used in new regimens. A Collaborative Group called the Australasian Myeloma Research Consortium (AMaRC) is run from our unit. It promotes, facilitates and sponsors Investigator Initiated Trials and collaborative laboratory research projects in myeloma, acting as Trial Centre supporting the participating sites in Australasia.
You would be working within one of the biggest Haematology Trials units in Australia, if not the biggest. It is a large, supportive team, and linked with exciting preclinical research teams. We run trials across a spectrum of disorders from haemophilia to the malignant diseases such as leukemia and myeloma. There are many investigator Haematologists who are all engaged and enthusiastic.
This role will involve coordinating study participants and their treatment according to the clinical trial protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant health related tertiary qualification or Current Div 1 registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria
- Experience in Haematology or Medical Oncology
- Knowledge of Haemophilia
- Experience in clinical trials
