The Nursing Workforce Unit is based at The Alfred and provides supplementary staff to both Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham sites when required. Staff that are provided from this service includes General, psychiatric nurse and enrolled nurses, clerical staff and patient attendants. The staff can be provided via various contractual arrangements including permanent part time (Pool), Casual (Bank) or Contractual (Agency). Our service also provides a variety of workforce reports and assists in various workforce strategies across the health service.


Seeting yourself up to your pathway to Management. The Nursing Workforce Unit is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurses to take on the position of Associate Nurse Manager Bank & Pool. The position will be primarily located at The Alfred Hospital but will also require visits to other Alfred Health sites.

As Associate Nurse Manager Bank & Pool and a member of the Nursing Workforce Unit management team, you will work closely with the Manager Nurse Bank & Pool to select and develop Nurse Bank and Pool staff to ensure that the organisational need for available and skilled supplementary staff, both nursing and clerical, is best met.


  • A keen interest in managing a large casual & permanent workforce
  • Previous Managerial, ANM/Resource and/or Senior Clinical experience in a large health network
  • Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
  • Microsoft Office skills (preferable)
  • Recruitment experience (preferable)
  • Flexibility to work across a range of campuses
  • Ability to adapt to ever-changing organisational strategic direction
