Alfred Health’s Acute Physiotherapy Service provides physiotherapy services to the patients of The Alfred and Sandringham Hospital. The Acute Physiotherapy Service is organised into five functional streams, namely: Intensive Care, Musculoskeletal, Respiratory, PAN (Progressive Illness, Aged Care and Neurosciences), and Sandringham. The first four streams are located at The Alfred site, with the fifth and latter stream based at the Sandringham site.
The Senior Physiotherapist (Grade 2-3A) Advanced Musculoskeletal Practice (AMP) Trainee is responsible for the ongoing development and provision of physiotherapy services to the musculoskeletal outpatient service in consultation with senior clinician(s) and stream leader at the level of a developing expert. The Senior Physiotherapist (AMP Trainee) will be exposed to advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice and will be expected to participate in the advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapy competency based training and assessment program. Further information regarding what this involves is available on request. The Senior Physiotherapist (AMP Trainee) is also responsible for the education of physiotherapy students and the supervision and professional development of Grade 1 staff assign to their units. The Senior Physiotherapist (AMP Trainee) has an important role contributing to the development of individuals, the clinical team and the physiotherapy service through good leadership, teamwork and communication. Although this position is currently based at the Alfred in an outpatient setting, there may be a requirement in the future to work at other campuses of Alfred Health, on weekends and public holidays, or in an inpatient setting .
Ability to plan and manage a caseload
