The Alfred Cancer program comprises service units providing clinical and research excellence in the fields of medical oncology, radiation oncology, haematology, bone marrow transplant, haemophilia, melanoma and palliative care. Alfred Cancer governs the delivery of comprehensive cancer care across the organisation, providing clinical care for patients affected by cancer, blood disorders and at the end of life. Alfred Cancer provides quality clinical care for our local catchment, and to all Victorians through our state-wide melanoma, haematology and haemophilia services. The Alfred Cancer program also has a large focus on clinical trials with a research component embedded in each medical unit within the Alfred Cancer program. In addition, Alfred Cancer partner with many rural and regional centres, collaborating in the delivery of clinical trial and research activity across Victoria.
The Personal Assistant for the Clinical Service Director (CSD) of Alfred Cancer and Director of Victorian Melanoma Service (VMS) is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support to both the CSD and Director of VMS. The incumbent will need to be able to work autonomously and ensure they are able to manage their time effectively to meet expected timelines. High level of accuracy and attention to detail is required. It is an extremely busy environment, where flexibility is required due to the nature of working in a health organisation with competing demands. The position is the initial contact for enquires for CSD and Victorian Melanoma Service Director.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated commitment to high level customer service skills
Strong information technology experience and high level computer skills with proven experience with Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel and Publisher)
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
Demonstrated understanding or willingness to learn the Alfred IT systems including CSC, Cerner and scheduling
Easy public transport access and discounted staff car parking
