  • Senior Occupational Therapist, grade 3
  • Full time – 80 hours per fortnight, including an ADO

Alfred Mental and Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne. Services are provided by a number of teams located at the Alfred Hospital (Commercial Road, Prahran) and at St. Kilda Road Clinic, Waiora Clinic in Armadale, Alma Road CCU in St. Kilda, PARC in South Yarra and the Child & Youth Service located in Moorabbin and headspace sites at Elsternwick, Bentleigh, Dandenong, Frankston and Narre Warren. Aged Psychiatry is located at Caulfield campus of Alfred Health.


The Senior Occupational Therapist is based at the Alfred and is primarily responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of occupational therapy services and interventions provided to patients admitted to the acute psychiatry. There are approximately 1100 patients admitted to the inpatient units each year and assessment of function to support independence, alongside determination of social and occupational strengths is critical to autonomy and recovery. Within the unit occupational therapists contribute to the daily activity programs, facilitate sensory modulation and contribute to the ongoing implementation of Safewards taking a lead in the mutual help meetings and ensure timely and effective feedback to the nurse manager.


  • Bachelor of Applied Science (O.T.) or equivalent from a recognised school of Occupational Therapy. 7
  • Eligible for membership of O.T. Australia, Victoria
  • AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience
