Grade 2 Social Worker
Alfred Psychiatry is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.
The Hope team provides innovative care to individuals who present to the hospital post a suicide attempt or with serious suicidal ideation, planning and intent.
Care is delivered via assertive outreach, clinic based sessions for brief therapeutic interventions, telephone and email. You will assist clients to identify the gaps in their lives and support them to address these and to engage with health practitioners and relevant community services is a crucial part of this role.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Approved degree in Social Work completed and evidence of eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers.
A current Victorian Driver’s License is essential
Relevant experience working in a community mental health team and working with individuals in crisis or with mental health issues
Knowledge of AASW Practice standards for mental health Social Workers
Other relevant qualifications or currently studying, such as drug and alcohol or psychosocial or therapeutic interventions.
