  • Full time (76 hours per fortnight)
  • Fixed term contract (12 months)

The role of the Research Assistant is to support a range of research and operational activities for the APFPR. This will include activities involving ethics and governance, data entry, patient reported outcomes measures (PROMs) administration, database testing and site support. Other activities may include supporting the development of minimum datasets and clinical quality indicators for the registry. The role will work closely with the Registry Coordinator and other team members, reporting to the Project Manager. This position requires previous experience in a clinical research setting with an ability to liaise with stakeholders, channel information, and prepare clear and concise documents. 


The appointee will have:

  • An undergraduate degree in health or social sciences. 
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide administrative and research support in a clinical research setting.
  • Research experience undertaking activities such as hospital ethics and research governance related tasks, collation of data and patient interviews/survey administration.
  • Experience working with sensitive data and an understanding of required governance, ethics, and privacy frameworks.
  • The ability to work independently in a research environment and as part of an interdisciplinary research team.
  • A demonstrated capacity to work in a collegiate manner with other staff in the workplace.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including experience in engaging with consumers/ customer service.
  • Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
