Alfred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.


This position has been established to work with a dedicated project team to assist in the planning and implementation of the expanded HOPE services. Mental Health Reform Victoria (MERV) has provided funding for the Alfred to expand its current HOPE team to provide addition services by expanding the referral pathway and providing afterhours response. We are looking for a passionate project worker to oversee the project who can work collaboratively with others, engage with a wide range of people and has the ability to develop partnerships. Past experience with project work, co-design process and a good understanding of mental health services is desired.



  • Registration with relevant professional (Nursing, OT, SW, Psychology or equivalent) organisation or body with relevant post graduate qualifications preferably in mental health or community health
  • Knowledge and experience of the mental health system.
  • Recognition and understanding of the positive determinants of mental health
  •  Demonstrated experience in project or portfolio management
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic stakeholder engagement and management
  • Willingness to participate in relevant training and supervision .


  • Knowledge and experience in the evaluation of programmes and processes
  • Knowledge and experience working with a co-design methodology
  • Demonstrated ability in working with people, particularly within a community development or health promotion framework.
