Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory, to inpatient and home and community based services.

  • 80 hours per fortnight with an ADO 
  • Secondment available until the 31st of December 2021


Alfred Health is the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne and a major provider of specialist state-wide services to the people of Victoria.


As a part of a national strategy to minimise COVID-19 transmission in Australia, all international passengers arriving into Australia via air or maritime ports are required to undertake mandatory quarantine in a designated hotel room for 14 days. 
In Victoria, Alfred Health has been engaged to provide clinical care within the Department of Justice and Community Safety’s COVID-19 Accommodation program (the Program), for returned international travellers and/or community members (residents). Alfred Health provides clinical support and management for all people residing in the Program’s clinical setting.


The role of the Infection Prevention Lead works to support the implementation and upkeep of the relevant policies, guidelines and procedures in place within the Program hotels to support the infection control measures. This role is focused on providing high standards of training and auditing to ensure compliance and acting as a clinical resource where required. 

  • Previous experience in managing teams
  • Registration with the AHPRA with tertiary qualifications in nursing and postgraduate studies in infection prevention (highly desirable) equivalent as a minimum
  • Understanding and experience in risk management and quality assurance systems
  • Ability to develop and report on performance/training and outcomes
  • Understanding of Infection Prevention principles required
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Capacity to work in and manage high-stress situations
