Alfred HOPE Team
Fixed term – until June 2021
Full-time – 80 hours per fortnight including an ADO
Classification code – Social Worker Grade 2 (YC42-YC45)
Alfred Psychiatry is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.
In keeping with the goals of the Victorian suicide prevention framework 2016–25, the Alfred HOPE team aims to build resilience in individuals who have made a suicide attempt by providing them intensive outreach support and individualised therapeutic care post this event in their lives. The Social Worker within the Hope team works with the senior clinical staff and the Psychosocial Support Workers to design and implement individualised care including safety planning to minimise the risk of further suicide attempts.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Approved degree in Social Work completed and evidence of eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers.
A current Victorian Driver’s License
Relevant experience working in a community mental health team and working with individuals in crisis or with mental health issues
Knowledge of AASW Practice standards for mental health Social Workers
Other relevant qualifications or currently studying, such as drug and alcohol or psychosocial or therapeutic interventions
