Senior Clinical Psychologist  ( P-3)

Part-Time, 16 hours per fortnight

Department

The Alfred Psychology Department includes Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology. There are over twenty psychologists working within the Psychology department and approximately ten or more provisional psychologists on clinical placement. Psychology Services are part of Allied Health Service within the hospital. The majority of psychologists work within Psychiatry and the Manager of Psychology reports both to the Director of Mental and Addictions Health and the Director of Allied Health. Within the general hospital, clinical psychologists provide services to the Cystic Fibrosis (CF), Burns, Haemophilia, Heart Transplant, HIV and Oncology Services

Role

The Senior Clinical Psychologist will provide clinical services to  patients of the Intensive Care  Unit (ICU) and provide well-being and  support services to ICU staff. Liaison and collaborative work with other members of the multi-disciplinary team and in particular with other psychosocial staff  including Consultation Liaison Psychiatry staff and social work is an essential aspect of the position. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation Law (Victoria) Act 2009
  • Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009
  • Approved Psychology Board of Australia Supervisor
  • Master or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Membership of the APS and the APS College of Clinical Psychology is desirable
