Alfred Health is the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne and is also a major provider of specialist services to people across Victrola. The Operating Suite Supply Area is a pivotal service, providing the necessary equipment and consumables required in surgical procedures for the Alfred and the Alfred Centre.
The Operating Suite Supply Area is seeking an experienced Grade 5 Instrument Technician, who holds demonstrated expertise and experience in a similar Instrument Technician role. The successful candidate will report directly to the CSSD Manager, supervising a team to plan, maintain and review supply levels, coordinate Quality Control Improvement Actions and coordinate the training of new and less experience staff. This role requires a high level of responsibility. The permanent part time position is 72 hours per fortnight, based on a rotating roster, with flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster essential. The role will be based primarily at The Alfred Hospital, with some shift rotations at Sandringham Hospital. Prior experience in CSS is not essential, however is welcomed. The successful applicant will be provided with abundant on the job training and ongoing support.
QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE + SKILLS REQUIRED:
Certificate 3 in Sterilisation essential
Successful competition of the certificate (4) Mayfield course (Certificate- Health Support Services Supervision)
Demonstrated competency in decontamination, preparation and supply areas of the Operating Suite Supply Area
Excellent communication skills including fluent English written & oral skills (essential)
Demonstrated reliability, supervisory and teaching skills
Flexibility and availability to work across a rotating fortnight roster
