DEPARTMENT

The Surgical Services Program consists of 16 speciality surgical units across Alfred Health, the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, surgical inpatient wards, Alfred Health theatres and procedure rooms and Central Sterilising Service Department (CSSD). A total of 23,000 surgical procedures are completed annually including state-wide services for Heart/Lung Transplants, Trauma and Burns.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Material Resource Manager is responsible in ensuring the program consistently delivers high quality, cost effective services for patients. Reporting to the Director of Operations, Surgical Services this position will support the Alfred Operating Suites Manager to achieve Surgical Services targets and meet Alfred Health’s strategic plan for The Alfred theatres and procedural rooms, Sandringham theatres and CSSD.

The Clinical Material Resource Manager will be responsible for managing a complex budget and patient related expenditure, managing a complex inventory to sustain twenty-four-hour patient service, facilitate collaboration and advise the Supply Department team to achieve specialist surgical procurement and tender negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE + SKILLS REQUIRED:

Essential

  • Previous experience in operating suite environment and/or surgical equipment/ patient-related materials
  • Post-graduate qualification in area pertinent to role requirements
  • Organisational awareness
  • Resource and financial management; well-developed financial analysis and planning skills
  • Teamwork and collaboration

Desirable

  • Previous management experience in related field
