Alfred Health’s Acute Physiotherapy Service provides physiotherapy services to the patients of The Alfred and Sandringham Hospital. The Acute Physiotherapy Service is organised into five functional streams, namely: Intensive Care, Musculoskeletal, Respiratory, PAN (Progressive Illness, Aged Care and Neurosciences), and Sandringham. The first four streams are located at The Alfred site, with the fifth and latter stream based at the Sandringham site.
The Senior Clinician Physiotherapist (Lung Transplant) is responsible for providing leadership in the ongoing development and provision of inpatient and outpatient physiotherapy services to the Lung Transplant service and programs assigned to them as well as contributing to the overall service outcomes of the Respiratory Physiotherapy Stream. The Senior Clinician Physiotherapist (Lung Transplant) shares responsibility for the education of physiotherapy students and the supervision and professional development of Grade 2 and Grade 1 staff assigned to their units. The Senior Clinician Physiotherapist (Lung Transplant) is expected to be engaged in research and quality activities within the area neurosciences, or more broadly within Respiratory Stream and has an important role contributing to the development of individuals, the clinical team and the physiotherapy service through good leadership, teamwork and communication.
Ability to plan and manage a caseload
Ability to undertake quality initiatives
Expert knowledge of physiotherapy services in lung transplant recipients and respiratory patients
Post Graduate qualifications in respiratory physiotherapy or other relevant field highly regarded
Excellent communication and time management skills
