Alfred Health is a health service for residents of Melbourne's inner south-eastern suburbs and is also a major provider of specialist services to Victorians across three main facilities: The Alfred Hospital, Caulfield Hospital and Sandringham Hospital. We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified individuals to come and join our team to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
This position exists to help in hotels across Melbourne, under the supervision of the Registered Nursing staff to make a positive difference to patient care and help assist with the current COVID-19 pandemic. Those successful will have a genuine interest in being part of a team and assisting in providing a high standard of quality of care to those patients in the hotel.
You must be a team player and be able to take direction from the registered nurse that you would be working with and possess excellent communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with significant experience in an acute setting and a Certificate III in Health Service Assistant is highly desirable, however in house training will be provided. The main focus of the Patient Attendants is to provide a high level of service and assistance to patients from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
These casual opportunities exist with an emphasis upon night shifts, however morning and afternoon shifts are also available, working up to 76 hours per fortnight. Shifts are allocated across a 7 day roster for both short and long shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience of working in an acute hospital is desirable but not essential
Currently studying a Bachelor degree in a Healthcare field (Allied Health/Paramedicine/Nursing)
Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Acute) or willingness to undertake additional units if required
Basic computer skills
