The Director of Nursing & Site Operations will be a senior nurse employed at Alfred Health and a member of the Alfred Health Executive Committee. In partnership with the Alfred Health Paediatric Clinical Advisor, this position will have responsibility for the effective delivery and governance of paediatric services across Alfred Health.
This position is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical and site operations across Sandringham Hospital. In collaboration with Alfred Health Operations and Service Directors, this position will lead performance improvement in quality and safety, patient outcomes and patient and staff satisfaction at Sandringham.
As the site Director of Nursing, this position will ensure clinical nursing leadership is provided to consistently deliver a high quality, cost effective service for all patients at Sandringham Hospital. This position will lead nursing issues in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer and other senior nurses across Alfred Health to provide a level of consistency with workforce planning, nursing quality, education, research and professional practice.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Current Registered Nurse with AHPHRA, that holds a tertiary qualification in health care
Currently holds or is working towards a master’s degree in health care or business management
Recent experience in acute setting and paediatrics preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to initiate and facilitate effective workplace change at program and unit level whilst fostering sound working relationships with stakeholders
Extensive experience at a senior level in a teaching hospital environment and able to demonstrate strong operational management skills and a commitment to achieving professional clinical standards
Demonstrated success in managing a large and complex program, preferably in the health sector
An established understanding of health services and service delivery objectives
A record of achievement in delivering services in accordance with the stated performance objectives of a complex organisation involved in health care
