A collaborative partnership within Alfred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH) has created an exciting role for a Senior Pharmacist in our Community Mental Health program. The Senior Pharmacist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high- level pharmacy expertise focussing on clients experiencing mental illness. 

 

  • Senior Clinical Pharmacist Mental and Addiction Health Services 

  • Full-Time - 80 hours per fortnight plus ADO 

  • 12 month (Maternity Leave Cover) Contract 

  • Grade 3 

  • Based at St Kilda Road Clinic, St Kilda Rd Melbourne  

 

THE ROLE 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist with experience in providing clinical pharmacy services across a spectrum of mental health services but with a special interest in community based mental health care.  You will work in partnership with our existing community mental health pharmacist, Lead Clinical Pharmacist and the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best medication outcomes for individual patients of Alfred (Adult) Community Mental Health Program, and provide support and contribute to the overall Pharmacy Service for Alfred Mental and Addiction Health. 

 

Our services are provided through comprehensive structured outpatient and community-based programs that focus on enhancing the mental health, independence and overall well-being of people residing in the community. The position will complement existing community based mental health pharmacy services. 

 

Research is an essential part of pharmacy services at Alfred Health. The post holder would also be expected to contribute to the research and educational activities of the Mental and Addiction Health Program. 

 

YOUR SKILLS 

  • Demonstrated knowledge in pharmacotherapeutics in psychotropic medicine, including acute psychiatry, child and adolescent services and older age mental health services, addiction and substance misuse services 

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and decision-making skills 

  • Ability to search and analyse medical and paramedical literature 

 

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Registered pharmacist with AHPRA 

  • Relevant clinical post-graduate qualification such as Masters in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent  

  • Completion of a specialist qualification, or completion or progression towards a PhD highly desirable 

  • Credentialed or a portfolio that demonstrates progression towards credentialing as Advanced (Level 2 or 3) on the Australian Advanced Level Framework highly desirable
