The Department:

Alfred Mental and Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services that provide mental health care for the people of the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

Services are provided by several teams located at the Alfred Hospital (Commercial Road, Prahran) and at 607 St. Kilda Road Clinic incorporating the Waiora Clinic, 549 St Kilda Road and Alma Road CCU in St. Kilda. The Child, Youth and Family Service is located in Moorabbin and there are Headspace clinics in Elsternwick and Bentleigh.  Aged Psychiatry is located at Caulfield campus of Alfred Health.

The Role:

This exciting new position has been developed to lead advocacy and contribute to systems development and research in domains that affect the social health and wellbeing of Alfred Mental and Addiction Health community and provide leadership to the Allied Health Workforce including credentialing, scope of practice, student and graduate programs.

It is anticipated that this role will lead innovation in the development of therapeutic programs whilst providing operational leadership to defined parts of the program.  Specific to the role is the capacity to coordinate service delivery for transitional, cross program, and cross-stream initiatives.  There is a professional reporting line across the Allied Health Leadership Team to the Deputy Director of Allied Health, Social Health and Wellbeing.

Skills:

  • Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary model of care
  • Prior experience of working in a mental health care setting
  • Previous experience in the health sector
  • Current Drivers Licence
