The HR Services and Staff Welfare team reports through to the Executive Director, People & Culture. OHS staff work across The Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham hospitals to support managers, Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and staff to fulfil their OHS obligations by providing leadership, strategic direction, systems, advice and assistance. Key areas of responsibility include occupational health and safety management systems, manual handling and ergonomics, workers compensation and return to work, emergency exercises and OHS training.
As the Manager of Occupation Health and Safety, you will work closely with the Director of HR Services and Staff Welfare to play a pivotal role in driving the occupational health and safety strategy across Alfred Health. You will utilise your strong leadership skills while working to develop a highly skilled team to enhance the department profile by providing strategic advice to staff and management on all aspects of occupational health and safety.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Tertiary qualifications in OHS
Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training
Significant experience in the design, implementation and review of OHS, claims management and rehabilitation systems, in a complex organisational setting.
Experience in managing risk factors associated with musculoskeletal injury.
Experience in managing budgets
Experience in leading a team of OHS professionals
