DEPARTMENT The Information Development Division supports and maintains ICT across Alfred Health. Services include helpdesk, desktop support, telecommunications (phones, mobiles, pagers), nurse call, security systems, server and network support, application support for enterprise systems, business analysis, project management, IT training, visual communications. Over fifty technical staff supports an environment comprising over 4000 network-connected desktop computers and over 200 servers. In addition, IT Services manages the wide area network and data centres for several other health services.
POSITION SUMMARY The incumbent will support Alfred Health’s EMR Team to maintain, support and enhance core interface functions that are used in the EMR and that interact with external systems both upstraeam and downstream from the CIS. This will involve liaising with the external vendor responsible for the maintenance and day to day running of the integration engine that manges the interfaces. The incumbent will be expected to maintain a close working relationship with the EMR. team, foreign systems managers and administrators and the server and infrastructure team.
University degree (equivalent) or higher qualification and work experience with a minimum of 10 years (as a guide)
The successful candidate should also possess a thorough knowledge of HL7 messaging and how it is processed by the integration engine and how all the components thereof are utilised by the core systems that are interfaced.
