THE DEPARTMENT
Alfred Health has one of the most experienced and technologically advanced radiology departments in the country, providing service to the population of Melbourne and greater Victoria.
The Alfred Health provides a comprehensive range of medical diagnostic and therapeutic services with a modern range of equipment across all modalities. The service includes outpatients, emergency and inpatients across two campuses. Interventional services include three angiography suites and a dedicated CT for intervention as well as ultrasound and fluoroscopy procedures. Interventional services are also supported by an outpatient clinic.
The departmental clinical governance strategy ensures a high standard of care for patients undergoing radiological examinations and promotes a multidisciplinary team approach.
THE ROLE
The Associate Nurse Manager is a member of the nursing leadership team within Radiology who assists the Nurse Unit Manager to operationalise the core values of the organisation, and plays a pivotal role in meeting broader organisational imperatives. This role supports excellence in clinical practice and promotes the development and education of nurses, ensuring the philosophy of nursing and standards of practice are consistently reflected in professional practice and patient care. Together with the Nurse Manager, the Associate Nurse Manager is responsible for managing clinical risk and implementing systems and processes to improve patient outcomes. The Associate Nurse Manager facilitates timely patient access and flow across the continuum of care.
Strong leadership, motivation and communication skills will be demonstrated by your actions as a role model to others. You will have acute clinical experience within Radiology in particular Interventional Radiology and a strong interest in quality and risk management, education and change management. Based at The Alfred Hospital, you will have a focus in Interventional Radiology in particular, trauma, neuro intervention and peripheral vascular angiography across all modalities.
A development/support training program is available to facilitate your transition into this role.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Registered Nurse - APHRA registration
Minimum four years acute Radiology experience- with at least two years angiography intervention experience
Excellent communictaion skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
