Manager Spiritual Care
The Spiritual Care Department is part of the multi-disciplinary team of the hospital and provides religious, spiritual and emotional support, listening, companionship, prayer and sacramental ministry to patients, relatives and staff. The Department also provides a worship and prayer space for people of all faiths and beliefs, offering and sometimes facilitating appropriate religious services and ritual.
Following a review of Spiritual Care service provision across Alfred Health this newly created position is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Spiritual Care Manager to oversee and ensure the provision of high quality pastoral and spiritual care to patients, families/carers and staff across all campuses of Alfred Health.
The Manager will provide effective workforce management that ensures optimal clinical service provision and provides supervision and support to on-site Pastoral and Spiritual Care staff, honorary staff and volunteers.
At least 7 years’ experience in a professional pastoral/spiritual care role, with regular professional supervision.
Tertiary qualification, preferably at postgraduate level, or qualifications including studies in theology, social science or other relevant areas.
Advanced Certified Member of Spiritual Care Australia preferred – eligibility essential
Capacity to work at Level 4 of the Capability Framework for Spiritual Care Practitioners in Health Service
