The Alfred Health Radiation Oncology (AHRO) Department is a unit of a comprehensive cancer service provided by Alfred Health. The department is comprised of two units, Alfred Radiation Oncology (ARO) located in the South Block at The Alfred and The Gippsland Radiation Oncology (GRO), located at Latrobe Regional Hospital. Together the two units provide the full range of radiation oncology and radiation therapy services (with the exception of paediatrics) in addition to some specialized services with both state and national significance. This position is primarily based at ARO The Alfred.
This position will involve working as part of the data management team in providing data management support to the Radiation Oncology department of the Alfred Hospital. This will involve the coding of disease records, entering radiotherapy treatment summaries, maintaining patient follow up and other data related and clerical activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in the data management environment an advantage
Previous clerical and data entry experience, preferably in a hospital or medical environment.
An understanding of medical terminology
Sound computer skills including accurate keyboard skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases
Strong literacy and numeracy skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organisational and investigative skills and proven attention to detail
Easy public transport access
