  • Grade 2 Scientist Specialist Coagulation / Haematology Alfred Pathology Service
  • Full time permanent


The Department 
Alfred Pathology Service (APS) provides a comprehensive range of pathology testing, consultation services and collection services to clinicians and patients of Alfred Health. The Service has 5 units (Anatomical Pathology, Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Microbiology and Human Molecular Pathology), each headed by a Unit Head. APS has the core laboratory at The Alfred as well as a small local laboratory at Sandringham hospital. We also provide support and services to the Northern Hospital. 

 

The Role
We are seeking applicants for this full time permanent  position predominantly in the Specialised Coagulation section of the Haematology laboratory at APS. 
You are required to demonstrate effective communication skills,
proven computer skills, involvement in training and competency assessments and the ability to lead a team and to develop, critique, implement and monitor testing systems to the highest standard.


Skills
Experience requirements include previous experience working in a complex Coagulation laboratory.

A thorough working knowledge of NATA, NPAAC, QC, QA and TQM is required
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Applied Science.
