CLUSTER 1 – Alfred Hospital Cluster

This position is open to applicants who are currently completing or have recently completed the final year of undergraduate studies in Medical Radiations Science (Nuclear Medicine) in Victoria or equivalent approved courses in other Australian states and territories. We do request that short-listed applicants make themselves available for a face-to-face interview taking place in Melbourne during the period of 18 - 19 November 2019. Phone interviews are not encouraged.
The successful applicants of the intern program in cluster 1 will undertake 12 months of training in the following Nuclear Medicine practices:
- Base site: The Alfred (6 months)
- Metropolitan affiliate site 1: Eastern Health rotating to Maroondah and Angliss Hospitals (3 months)
- Metropolitan affiliate site 2: Epworth Medical Imaging, Epworth Hospital, Richmond (3 months)
These 3 health networks serve the bayside, inner eastern and eastern metropolitan Melbourne. Together we provide a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic patient services. The departments are extensively equipped with high performance and up-to-date technology to deliver these services. We are committed to training, education and research activities.
Intern Programme
As an intern you will receive training in all key patient service areas including cardiac, PET, general nuclear medicine and radionuclide therapy. You will also gain valuable laboratory skills when rotated through the comprehensive radiopharmacy facility at The Alfred Hospital. You will be expected to undertake a range of professional development activities including participation in and contribution to our continuing education programme. Rotation to CT as well as visits to a variety of other allied health fields can be organised for you.
Registration
You will be required to hold provisional registration from the MRPBA to practice as a Medical Radiations Supervised Practitioner prior to commencing an internship. Applications can be downloaded from http://www.medicalradiationpracticeboard.gov.au/Registration/Forms.aspx
