Alfred Health’s Acute Physiotherapy Service provides physiotherapy services to the patients of The Alfred and Sandringham Hospital. Alfred Health’s Acute Physiotherapy Service is the amalgamation of The Alfred Physiotherapy Department and the Sandringham Hospital Physiotherapy Department.

This is one of several Grade 1 Physiotherapist positions available at Alfred Health in both an ongoing and temporary basis. The successful applicants will be involved in rotations across The Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham Hospital sites.  Currently there are 28 full time Grade 1 physiotherapy positions of which 13 positions are located at The Alfred, 13 positions are located at Caulfield and 1 position is located at Sandringham, with 1 position being a rural secondment to Alice Springs. The position will rotate across all clinical areas serviced by the Alfred Health Physiotherapy Service and will also be involved in the provision of an after-hours, weekend and public holiday service. The Grade 1 will work closely with the relevant Grade 2, 3 or 4 physiotherapists to ensure the provision of best practice patient care and the achievement of maximal operational effectiveness.



  • Physiotherapist registered to practice in the state of Victoria (AHPRA)


  • Ability to thoroughly and effectively assess and manage Alfred patients throughout the continuum of care
  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively to ensure efficient physiotherapy practice
  • Basic information technology skills
