The Department

The Alfred Health Speech Pathology Department is a co-ordinated service across all of Alfred Health which includes The Alfred Hospital; Caulfield Hospital; and Sandringham Hospital.

This position is based at Caulfield Hospital.

The Role

We are looking for a Grade 1 Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic team at Alfred Health. Responsibilities include assessment and management of patients with disorders of swallowing, communication and cognition.

Previous experience in dysphagia management is essential.

This position is based at Caulfield Hospital.

The successful applicant would demonstrate strong clinical skills, a commitment to learning and an interest in working with an aged population.

Skills 

  • An ability to apply theoretical knowledge in the areas of dysphagia, dysphasia, motor speech disorders, cognition and voice.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
  • High standard of written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • An ability to work effectively as part of a team.
