The Physiotherapy department delivers services to inpatients of the orthopaedic, general medical and general surgical wards, the Emergency Department and Short Stay Observation Unit and to inpatients of the Royal Women’s Hospital @ Sandringham.
An outpatient service is also available for patients referred from the hospital outpatient clinics, such as Orthopaedic and Women’s Health outpatients or referred from the wards.
Physiotherapists are on duty at weekends for inpatients and the Emergency Department/SSOU.
Physiotherapists employed by Alfred Health are involved with treating patients referred from The Royal Womens’ at Sandringham. Patients can be referred as an inpatient or an outpatient for a variety of ante natal and postnatal conditions.
The Senior Clinician Physiotherapist (Women’s Health) will be responsible for the ongoing development and provision of high quality physiotherapy to the referred outpatients and inpatients of the Royal Women’s Hospital @ Sandringham in consultation with the site manager.
The Senior Clinician Physiotherapist (Women’s Health) has an important role in contributing to the development of individuals, the clinical team and the physiotherapy service through good leadership, teamwork and communication.
This role of 12 hours per week is directed specifically to continence outpatients but will encompass post natal inpatient women and antenatal inpatients at times.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge and skills in the provision in the area of Women’s Health physiotherapy services along the patient’s continuum of care.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage a caseload
- Demonstrated ability to undertake quality initiatives
- Demonstrated effective communication skills
- Demonstrated effective time management skills
