Alfred Health's Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Rehabilitation Centre provides rehabilitation services for people with moderate to severe acquired brain injuries including traumatic brain injuries, stroke, hypoxic brain injuries and other causes of non-progressive brain injury. The service is comprised of a 42-bed inpatient rehabilitation service, a community rehabilitation service and a 4-bed transitional living service.


We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and skilled senior physiotherapist to provide high quality assessment and management of community based ABI clients.  Along with the clinical responsibilities in this senior role, you will provide leadership and clinical supervision within the ABI team, physiotherapy team and with students. You will also coordinate and contribute to quality improvement and research activities within the ABI Service. This position will suit a clinician who thrives within an inter-disciplinary team.


  • Extensive clinical experience in and knowledge of client-centred practice
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of clients with an ABI
  • Strong clinical knowledge across the variety of conditions managed in an ABI Service
  • Previous experience in a community setting is essential
  • Post graduate qualification or significant progress towards this is essential to this role
  • Proven ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to lead, supervise and provide professional development and support staff and students.
  • Evidence of previous involvement in development and implementation of research quality improvement activities
  • AHPRA Registration as a Physiotherapist is required.
