The Department 

The Alfred Health Cancer Program is responsible for the overall delivery of a comprehensive cancer service which includes a number of clinical areas and units including; Medical Oncology, Haematology, Bone Marrow Transplant, State-wide Haemophilia Service, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care and the Victorian Melanoma Service. The clinical areas include inpatient and day case treatment areas. The Alfred Cancer program also has a large focus on clinical trials in all our units and a research component to each unit within the program. 

The Role

The Innovation and Improvement Manager has a strategic role in delivering improved business processes and innovative service models across the Cancer Program. We are looking for a highly functional individual who is able to lead a program of work to ensure we deliver high quality of care to our patients. Leading change and being innovative are key requirements of the role.


  • A degree in a relevant healthcare profession, management, or change management field desireable 
  • Experience managing large scale improvement and change projects and overseeing multiple programs of work and evaluation skills.

  • Exceptional influencing and relationship management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative partnerships.

  • Experience in the health sector and/or a cancer related field desireable
