Senior Research Assistant, Occupational Therapy Research (Grade 3)

  • Part Time - 64 hours per fortnight
  • 12 month contract
  • Based at Caulfield Hospital

The Department

Occupational therapy focuses on enabling people to live satisfying and meaningful lives by helping them participate in the occupations they want to do, need to do and are expected to do. Occupations include all the activities that occupy a person's time such as self-care tasks, household duties, community involvement, work or study and leisure pursuits.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Occupational Therapist to join our research team in senior research assistant role.  As a member of the Occupational Therapy Department, the successful applicant will work across funded occupational therapy clinical research programs in several areas, including but not limited to discharge planning and long-term outcomes after acquired brain injury (including both stroke and traumatic brain injury), as well as other implementation research designed to increase clinical adherence to national guidelines.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in management of quality and research programs, including the development, leadership and implementation of clinical research protocols
  • Relevant clinical and research skills in occupational therapy and AB/stroke rehabilitation
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and collaboration skills that allows building effective working relationships with a diverse range of individuals and groups
  • Provide support and training to junior members of the occupational therapy research team
  • Monitor and report on progression of project plans / prepare data and research reports
  • Ability to work within project funding
