The Role

This is a newly created position which is part of a wider expansion of services to provide mental health intensive care packages to consumers of the Alfred Mental and Addiction Health Community Programme. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing the nutrition services within the Community Mental Health Services as well as building capacity for nutrition therapy to be a core component of treatment planning in a collaborative recovery focused model of care.

This position is based at the St Kilda Road Clinic and sits within the Adult Community Mental Health Service. Professional governance will be supported by the Alfred Health Nutrition Department.

The successful candidate should ideally demonstrate:

  • Clinical nutrition expertise in the assessment and management of consumers of mental health services across the spectrum of care
  • Excellence in clinical care, leadership and communication skills
  • Experience of continuous quality improvement and service development
  • At Least 7 years post-graduate experience
  • Eligibility for membership of DAA and APD credentialed is essential
  • Post graduate qualification or be progressing toward one
