  • Research Fellow - Bariatric Surgery Registry
  • Full Time, 12 months

DEPARTMENT:

The Bariatric Surgery Registry (BSR) is an initiative of the Australian and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgical Society (ANZMOSS) with the current custodian Monash University.  The core purpose of the Registry is to document longitudinally the outcomes of bariatric surgery across Australia and New Zealand.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a key member of the Bariatric Surgery Registry, the Research Fellow will be involved with the develop the research function of the Registry with an initial focus on PROMs including design methodology, develop program logic models, project plans, and detailed implementation timelines.

The Research Fellow will be responsible for ensuring that all research is conducted to the highest ethical standards, at all times complying with Australian Privacy Legislation. Whilst the expectation is that, the incumbent will drive one of the current projects within the registry in the first instance, in time it is hoped that the successful applicant will attract research funding for ongoing projects. The Research Fellow will also have a role in the provision of reports arising from Registry data. 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline;
  • A proven track record in the successful completion of research projects with a public health focus including experience in developing, collecting and analysing outcome measures;
  • Experience in managing and analyzing large datasets; and
  • Quantitative and/or qualitative research experience, including data analysis and interpretation
