Locum Visiting Medical Officer in Psychiatry

Alfred Health is the main provider of health services to people in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne and is also a major provider of specialist services to people across Victoria. Alfred Mental & Addiction Health comprises six program streams, of which Liaison-Emergency Psychiatry & Addiction is one.

An exciting opportunity exists for a consultant psychiatrist with expertise in general hospital work, to take on a 12 month fixed term position based at the Alfred Hospital within consultation-liaison psychiatry. This position will be allocated 16 hours per week across 4 sessions and will involve working closely with other Alfred specialty units (such as Burns, Oncology and the Emergency & Trauma Centre). The successful candidate will participate in a well established multidisciplinary Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry team, in supporting the care of our general hospital patients and their referrers.

Applicants must be legally qualified practitioners, registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, a Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and an accredited member of the Faculty of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
