Alfred Pathology Service (APS) provides a comprehensive range of pathology testing, consultation services and collection services to clinicians and patients of Alfred Health. The Service has 5 units (Anatomical Pathology, Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology and Microbiology, Human Molecular Pathology), each headed by a Unit Head. POSITION SUMMARY: A rare opportunity is available for a senior position in the Clinical Biochemistry unit of Alfred Pathology Service. The Scientist in this position is responsible for the day-to-day organisation of a section of the Clinical Biochemistry Unit. The senior scientists rotate through all of the sections in the unit over time. The unit receives many referrals for some of the complex work done in drug identification and toxicology, tandem mass spectrometry, protein identification, spectro-photometry and specialist immunoassays. Training will be provided, as well as collaboration with other seniors and there is great support for professional development.
5 Years experience in a diagnostic biochemistry laboratory desirable.
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science essential.
