The Department

Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham physiotherapy departments work closely together to provide a consistently high quality and equitable service across the continuum. There is strong commitment to a service delivery model that can flexibly move resources across all sites to accommodate fluctuations in service demand. Physiotherapy staff routinely rotate across all Alfred Health campuses and support the weekend and after hours services on all campuses.

The Role

The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) will be located primarily  at Caulfield Hospital within a cohort of  AHA positions within the Physiotherapy Department. The overall objective of the position is to provide support services for the physiotherapists with which they work. The Allied Health Assistant will be responsible for the transporting of patients to and from physiotherapy , providing assistance to physiotherapists or supervision of patient exercise programmes.



  • Assist with supervision and treatment programs
  • Ability to monitor patients and report changes
  • Assist patients with daily tasks
  • Knowledge and practice infection control standards
