DEPARTMENT:

The Application and Knowledge Management (AKM) is part of the Information Development Division (IDD), and has 2 core functions across all of Alfred Health.

We provide application development and support services (to varying extents) for all health service software applications - with the exception of the Cerner Millennium System and the Patient Administration System.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Application and Knowledge Management (AKM) team, at Alfred Health, are seeking an experienced senior SQL developer for a full-time role.  The applicant needs to have experience in providing the technical and data support to redevelop and maintain the data integrity of data warehouse platform.  This will include but not limited to design and extracting data from multiple data sources, setting up business objects and mapping data accordingly, and develop data validation process as data moves through it's different phases.

We are looking for a versatile technical person who can take over the responsibility of maintaining the data quality in the data warehouse platform. Mainly Microsoft products to manage, but analysing the big hospital data set, this role will include but not limited to design and extract data for different purposes including data registries, researches and other business and ad-hoc purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in technical discipline
  • At least 10 years’ industry experience and 5 years’ database experience
  • Highly proficient with ETL tools such as SSIS packages and other C# applications
  • Excellent object-oriented design and programming skills with relational data and data modelling experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Working knowledge of various software development methodologies and the SDLC including testing tools

Desirable  

  • Experience with agile visualization tools like Power BI 
  • Experience in experience in a healthcare analytics
  • Cerner health system’s knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge about Victorian health registries and data collection
