The Department

The Nutrition Department is seeking new graduate dietitian to join a busy clinical department. The Alfred Nutrition Department offers nutrition services across The Alfred, Caulfield Hospital and Sandringham Hospital campuses, providing a full range of clinical services, including specialist services such as nutrition support for both intensive care and chronic care patients. The department has innovative nutrition education and quality assurance programs.

The Role

The New gradudate dietitian is responsible for working within the Nutrition department to provide evidence based patient care, achieve operational effectiveness, develop departmental competencies and to work collaboratively within the Nutrition department and with the assigned clinical care team to assist in improving the standard of care for these patients. The New Graduate Position includes rotations at the acute and subacute hospital sites.


  • Understand current nutrition assessments and support practices
  • Ability to work in a multidesciplinary team
  • Knowledge of current community services and how to access them
  • Patient/ Customer focus
  • Ability to provide up-to-date knowledge and education materials in the are of nutrition


  • The successful applicant would have qualifications in dietetics and be eligible for membership of DAA.
  • Credentialed and holds provisional Accredited Practicing Dietitian Standing
  • Current driver's Licence
