DEPARTMENT

The Staffing Allocation office is based at Alfred Health and provides supplementary staff to Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham sites when required due to increase service demand or short fall in staffing requirements. The service provides advanced and just in time bookings (short notice shift replacement).

Staff that are provided from this service includes general, psychiatric nurses and enrolled nurses, clerical staff and patient attendants. The staff can be provided via various contractual arrangements including permanent (Pool), Casual (bank) or Contractual (Agency).

The service also provides a variety of workforce reports and assists in various workforce strategies across the health service. A number of management and allocation structures support this process.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Staff Allocator, you will liaise closely with wards, clinical services and nursing agencies with a vision to fill staffing shortfalls within the organisation. In addition, you will be responsible for all clerical duties associated with running the Staffing Allocations Office. As the Staff Allocator, you will be the point of contact for all Wards and Clinical services that require replacement of Nurses, Ward Clerks and Patient Attendants. 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing
  • Have a customer service focus
  • Qualifications / Knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Suite. i.e. Word, Outlook is preferred.
