Surgical/Cardiac Social Worker Grade 1
Part-time (4 days a week until Sunday, 30th June 2019)
The Social Worker is responsible for the provision of social work services to patients and their families/significant others within the Cardiac and Surgical Service areas. You will be required to have some flexibility as we aim to provide services in both Social Work Trauma and Surgical Team is also essential, as is regular participation in the Department’s Priority System. You will be required to develop and maintain community linkage while in the position. You will have the opportunity to consult with staff, both Social Workers and those from other disciplines, on issues relevant to patient care and provide advanced casework expertise.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Approved degree in Social Work and evidence of eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
A knowledge of the psychosocial impact that this area, and diagnosis, has on this patient population and individual coping.
Demonstrated experience in the area of acute health and an understanding of this diverse patient population.
Ability to develop and foster collaborative working arrangements and strategic alliance with relevant key stakeholders and organisations.
Demonstrated experience in social work student supervision and an interest and commitment in the professional supervision of staff.
Postgraduate qualifications in Social Work or a related field.
