The Department

The Alfred Health Radiaiton Oncology (AHRO) Department is a unit of a comprehensive cancer service provided by Alfred Health.The department is comprised of two units, Alfred Radiation Oncology (ARO) located at the Alfred and The Gippsland Radiaiton Oncology (GRO), located at Latrobe Regional Hospital. Together the two units provide the full range of radiation oncology services.

An exciting opportunity has become availbale for an enthusiastic, confident, knowledgeable and experienced Medical Secretary.

The Role

Working in a small team, within a team, provide secretarial support to one or more of the medical staff. This will involve some responsibility for patient appointments, preparation of medical records, following up doctor’s requests, medical audiotyping and, on occasion, some general reception work.

Skills

The Medical Secretary we are looking for will have:

  • Excellent organisational skills and work ethic
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • A high level of intiative and willingness to 'step up where required"
  • Processed consultations, bookings of appointment, audiotyping, billing and excellent telphone manner.
  • High degree of accruacy and attention to detail with the ability to multi task.
