Team Leader- Trauma/Surgical/ICU Lead

Grade 3

Full Time- Permanent

 

We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated Team Leader to contribute towards the outstanding Social work practice at Alfred Health.  The Team Leader/Intensive Care Unit Lead will be responsible for the joint clinical leadership and development of all staff within the Surgical/Trauma Stream of the Social work department at The Alfred.

 

The Team Leader will form a pivotal role within the ICU Ward Governance structure and will be a key team player within the ICU to foster and build strong relationships as well as providing an advanced level of Social work service to the unit.  The Team Leader will also be responsible for managing the day to day clinical service within the Trauma Stream.  The Trauma Stream consists of Trauma, Burns, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Cardiology and Surgery. The Team Leader will also be responsible for identifying and meeting the needs of the specialist patient group in collaboration with the clinical units, the management of clinical caseloads and priority allocations, implementation of research, teaching and quality improvement activities, development of service initiatives and development and monitoring of staff performance management plans.  This role will also provide direct clincial work in our ICU.  Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this position, including strong leadership skills, negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.  An advanced level of experience of working within a hospital setting is essential for this role.  An ability to display flexibility within work practice and to work as part of a multidisciplinary team are also essential. 

 

To be successful in this role you will have;

  • Bachelor of Social Work 
  • Postgraduate qualifications desired
  • Substantial experience in a Hospital  
  • A current working with Children's check and Police check will be required for this role
