The Department of Infectious Diseases has a range of clinical and laboratory research interests that need support from a laboratory scientist.  The position will provide close integration with the Diagnostic Microbiology and Clinical Research Units and will be responsible for routine sample processing in industry and investigator-initiated studies along with research assays in microbiological, molecular and immunological studies.  


Sample processing will include all standard diagnostic microbiology methods, susceptibility testing, assisting with the maintenance of an isolate repository and DNA/RNA extraction.  The position will be responsible for day-to-day laboratory maintenance activities including quality control of equipment and maintaining an inventory of laboratory consumables and specimen repository.
