ABI Rehabilitation Service

Grade 3 Speech Pathologist

part time (23 hours/week) maternity leave locum

 

We are seeking a part time grade 3 speech pathologist (maternity leave locum) to join Alfred Health's Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Rehabilitation Centre.

Alfred Health's Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Rehabilitation Centre provides rehabilitation services for people with moderate to severe acquired brain injuries including traumatic brain injuries, stroke, hypoxic brain injuries and other causes of non-progressive brain injury. The service is comprised of a 42-bed inpatient rehabilitation service, a community rehabilitation service and a 4-bed transitional living service.

We are looking for an experienced and skilled speech pathologist to provide high quality assessment and management of clients within the ABI Rehabilitation Service. You will also contribute to quality improvement and research activities within the ABI Service and the speech pathology department.

You will have:

  • Significant clinical experience in providing high level assessment and management of clients with an ABI
  • Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of the clinical areas of dysphagia, communication and cognition
  • Experience working within an interdisciplinary team to provide high quality rehabilitation within a patient centered,  goal directed framework
  • A recognised degree in Speech Pathology
