The Social Work Department operates in accordance with the philosophy and goals of The Alfred. A focus on quality of life and participation in care is a primary goal of the Department. Social Work aims to identify and address the psychosocial impacts of illness and hospitalisation for patients and their families by providing a range of services which increase quality of life and participation in care. Social Work also assists patients and their families with a smooth transition from hospital to home.
As Social Worker in Elective Surgery/Neurosurgry, ENT, Brest Endocrine Service and Leave you will be responsible for the provision of advanced social work services to patients and their families/significant others across a variety of clinical units. You will work in a range of different units across the hospital allowing you work with a diverse group of patients.
Ability to be flexible and ability to adapt.
Ability to work within a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional manor.
Ability to plan and problem solve.
Demonstrate a sound knowledge in Social Work theory and practice skills
Working knowledge of Acute and/or Sub Acute Hospital systems and resources.
