Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory, to inpatient and home and community based services.
Caulfield Hospital is a part of Alfred Health and a teaching hospital of Monash University. The hospital has 330 beds and provides acute and sub-acute services in aged care, rehabilitation, residential care and aged mental health. The hospital employs 40 senior medical staff, 16 advanced trainees and 18 junior doctors on rotation from The Alfred.
We are offering 10 accredited Aged Care Registrar training positions spread across Caulfield, The Alfred, Sandringham and Cabrini Hospitals with rotations through the various aged care inpatient and non-inpatient programs, Aged Psychiatry and Palliative Care.
Alfred Health participates in the centralised match for Advanced Trainees in Geriatric Medicine in Victoria via the VGMTP/RACP.
Applicants will need to apply to Alfred Health as well as to the RACP Advanced Trainee Matching Service. Please note that Alfred Health's closing dates are in advance of the closing dates for submission of your preference lists to RACP to allow for interviews to be arranged.
There are two categories of applicants and closing dates:
1. Applicants already in the RACP Advanced Training program in Geriatric Medicine or prospective dual RACP Advanced trainees: 25 July 2018
2. New applicants for Advanced Training in Geriatric Medicine (i.e. not previously an Advanced trainee with the RACP) and those Advanced Trainees that were not matched in first round: 23 August 2018
