Senior Pharmacist - Neurology

THE DEPARTMENT

The Pharmacy Department works closely with patient, their family and other health services to provide excellent service in the area of medication. Our departments' priorities are to provide information on medication safety, cost-effective use of medication for patients and deliver specialised pharmacy expertise at important points of a patient's recovery or treatment process. The Pharmacy Department at Alfred Health provides a dynamic and innovative clinical pharmacy service which has resulted in the creation of this new role. 

THE ROLE

Alfred Health is currently seeking a Senior Clinical Pharmacist with expertise in Neurology for this newly created 2 year position

In this role, you will be expected to develop and lead innovative extended scope of practice programs, and develop new programs to better care for our patients. You will lead and develop a team of motivated pharmacists and work alongside some of the country's best clinical practitioners. Research and education will be a core focus of your practice.

This position is a rare opportunity to lead national priorities, support clinical trials and research, develop and mentor staff and build a new clinical service in an evolving priority clinical area.

This role is at Advancing Stage 2 (Consolidation) on the national practice framework

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Clinical pharmacy experience in a major teaching hospital in neurology or a related area
• Credential at, or practice portfolio demonstrating practice equivalent to, Stage 2 Advancing  Practice
